After two of the most exciting days in recent Premier League history, expect plenty more goals in this weekend’s Manchester United v Liverpool match, a must win for Liverpool. This isn’t the only game to watch this weekend, there are plenty of must-wins all around the world.
Here’s a few extra must wins to whet your appetite!
Must Win: Chelsea and Everton
It’s tough to decide who needs this game more. Both teams are coming off midweek draws and are underperforming on a whole this season. Everton sits in 11th, while Chelsea are now six points from the drop zone in 14th. Everton’s last win came on Boxing Day against Newcastle, and have drawn their last two against Tottenham and Man City.
Everton would probably be fine with another draw, which means Chelsea need this one more. They are the home team, and the ones coming off a much more disappointing draw in which Diego Costa lost his cool. They haven’t lost since December 14th, but they still haven’t convinced their supporters that things are getting better. A win here would certainly help.
Must Win: Napoli
Napoli are your new leaders in Serie A, but they will be feeling the pressure of Juventus breathing down their necks. Napoli plays 6th placed Sassuolo who are coming off a 1-0 win over Inter and are only seven points out of a Champions League spot with a game in hand. It will be a tricky match, but if Napoli have any hopes at winning the Scudetto, it is one they must win.
Must Win: Chivas Guadalajara
Chivas are coming off a tough 2015 Apertura season in which they finished in 12th place and opened up the Clausura with a 2-2 draw with Veracruz. The proud Mexican club with a ton of history need to beat a Cruz Azul side who also had a poor Apertura to get the supporters back on their side and start to put to bed any worry of relegation come tournaments end.
Which games are you looking forward to the most this weekend? Will there be goals and cards in Man Utd-Liverpool? We sure hope so!
