The Sickest Kits That Dropped This Week

Happy Friday! We’re back to start your weekend off right with another Sick Kit Friday. thanks as always to FootyHeadlines. And you’re really going to want to see these.

BOCA JUNIORS

Perhaps the cleanest iteration of that Nike template comes with Boca Juniors’ new third kit. Instead of choosing two too-bright and radically different colors to force into a fade, this kit plays on the traditional Boca blue in a sleek fade — and most importantly, monochrome — fade.

OLYMPIQUE LYON

We just can’t get enough of these new solid-color third kits. This one, from Adidas and Olympic Lyon, is one to be worn in mostly cup competitions — so we wouldn’t be too upset if they make it to every final, so that we get to see it as much as possible.

The kit is mostly black with gold accents, although some white sneaks in at the end of each sleeve and in the unique permeated design. The high v-neck is a nice touch, too.

That accent of gold under the back collar reads “Nous sommes L’Olympique Lyonnais” (“We are Olympique Lyon”) for an added touch of class as well.

CHAPECOENSE

This one isn’t a kit per se, but certainly deserves a mention. While tons of clubs are still rolling out special kits that honor Chapecoense in the wake of the club’s flight tragedy, the club themselves have just revealed a new crest that pays homage in a similar, and everlasting, way.

The explanations translated: “The first star [on top] is for the triumph of the 2016 Copa Sudamericana. She is white in peace sign. The peace found by our Forever Champions. In addition, white color symbolizes the light that will guide us forward. The second star inside the letter F – which refers to football – is the subtle yet powerful way of eternalizing those who dedicated their lives to Chapecoense.”
